TO THE
FUNCLUB FAMILY:
I'm always amazed how polite the people on this list are and that many take the
time to post or call to thank a sender for the help they receive. For over a
year now I've used the FUNlist exclusively, largely due to its' attitude and
atmosphere (not that the others aren't good, but I only have so much time) . I
guess I know now why Walter's response to my phone calls is "always a pleasure"

THOUSAND WORDS.....
This service is worth a thousand words...I cannot believe the wealth of
information shared in just a couple of weeks... You can read all the trade
magazines, but not pick or share your gut feelings with others, like this...
I am having so much FUN!
Teri
THE BEST.....
My most popular designs right now are the ones coming out of your first
collection that I bought in Boston about a million years ago (about 6 years
ago). Your designs still run the best as far as I am concerned.
have fun.....

FAVORITE MESSAGES.....
My favorite messages are the more personal ones. I really like the idle or
trivial topics and feelings in your morning messages as well as everyone elses.
I think that everyone could use a little inspiration from time to time, and some
more that others. I like the web page and think it is constructed well. I like
your designs and tips and have used them in my own designs. I can see that the
service is being used well, and I think it is well worth the money invested.
I love it, Shawn
DOG PACKAGE.....
Hi Walter,
Thanks for sending the dog package. I sewed out the Lab and the Basset. Both are
great. They look as if one could take them for a walk.

A WEALTH OF INFORMATION.....
Just a note to let you know how much I'm enjoying and benefitting from the club.
I joined the club this month and am amazed at the knowledge I have gleaned in
such a short time. Thanks to all who willingly lend their knowledge and
experience.
And, of course, a big thanks to you, Walt!

Once again Walt, you have a wonderful way with words and description in making
the process come to life. I have attended many of your seminars and a class you
gave a few years ago at SMX. Your knowledge you share with us is much
appreciated. I started in the business 11 years ago and am always learning
something knew. A different fabric, a different thread, a new look - more
dimension - what picture can I paint with the threads. The gift of visualizing
is an important asset in this industry. The fun of embroidery is coming up with
new and inventive ways to create an illusion. Always a challenge. We still draft
our artwork at 4 or 6 times the size and I still teach my artist the way you
showed me years ago. I am looking forward to more of your invaluable tips and
explanations.
Thanks for offering this service - when I first started, everyone was very
closed mouth - know sharing is a part of the network. Thanks for all your
contributions.

Remember me from the ICE and you also you called me about your new network? I
haven't regretted it since the day I signed up. I have not imposed any questions
(as of yet), but I have answered a few.
Your service is great! Also, for fellow embroiderers, from my advise, alot of it
is trial and error and also the trade magazines have a wealth of information. I
started a notebook, categorized by section, (e.g. machine maintenance, working
with metallic, backing mediums, etc., etc.,) and that has been a great deal of
use to me.
Take care and keep having FUN .

FLABERGASTED.....
I can't believe how quickly you and your FUN cohorts responded!! ...Anyway,
thanks to all of you; I'm flabergasted and very appreciative.
...Please keep those postings coming. Thanks.

Walt,
I'd like this time to thank you for what you are doing. The fellowship of other
embroiderers and their ideas is great. Due in part to your and Mark Venits
seminars I have taken my shop to new hights. You digitizing "style" has cut down
on thread breaks and makes for cleaner designs that run better. Using your
techniques and about 1/2 of Mr. Venits marketing ideas I have taken my 1 head
shop to a 7 head shop to , with this Friday's delivery, a 22 head shop in less
than a year. Keep up the great work.
Oh and if any of you need a full service contract embroidery and screenprint
shop give me a call... :-)

What a great feeling to look forward to opening my mailbox every morning!! I
absolutely love the funlist, and have learned so much from just reading the
messages. I only recently started receiving the funlist correspondence though
I've been a member for almost a year, and I'm not sure how to access the
archives, so any direction would be appreciated! Thanks funlisters, I am new to
the embroidery industry though I've been in screenprinting for many years, and I
am in awe of your vast wisdom and knowledge!

WE BELONG TO A MUTUAL - ADMIRATION - SOCIETY.....
Angie loves Howard; Howard loves Angie!
The world loves Walter - and why not, everybody loves a cuddly teddy bear.
Walter loves the world - and that's what makes him so special.
For all those of you who are new to the FUNclub, and I know that there are a
bunch of you out there, welcome to the best, most helpful, most accommodating
and most giving group of PROFESSIONAL embroiderers you will ever meet.
For those of you who happened to be in Las Vegas, you know what I mean. For
those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to attend that gathering and our
soiree, I can only say that there's next year.
Don't say you can't - write it down as an objective and start now to prepare for
it. You can get very cheap transportation to Las Vegas and the Rio is a super
place to stay and for the size of the room and the quality of the
accommodations, it is inexpensive. Save your pennies, embroider a few more
shirts, charge a little more for your work. You'll know you did the right thing
and then you too can gush and coo and line up to stroke Walt's beard and judge
if his legs are really better than Howard's...
What a group!

I could not believe that Walt would call me on the telephone to answer a little
problem I was having. I will always be a loyal follower. Learning to digitize is
an uphill battle, but would have been worse by far if I didn't have Walt to
depend on.
I have learned to listen very carefully, and watch his designs sew out. (I'm
getting there, Walt) The embroidery industry is very fortunate indeed to have
Walt here to keep our believability in ourselves going. That statement comes
right from the heart, Walt. You really are the best.

TWO CENTS WORTH.....
I had to put in my two cents here. I tell everyone this story that asks me what
do I think of Walt Floriani.
I bought my business in June of 1998 and bought my machine and unpacked it and
off to ICE show 98.
The first morning I was there I rode the elevator up with this jolly man that I
had no idea who he was. He saw I was there for the embroidery show and I
commented that I had just got my machine and haven't even had my training yet.
It was a short chat just to our floor but he was so friendly and said you will
love this business and introduced himself - Walt Floriani. I thought to myself
how friendly he was to talk to just a newbe like me ( you must understand that I
was a hairdresser in my past life and the educators are not typically friendly
to nobodies , usually very snobbish) Well that was my first glimpse into a
profession that people are so willing to help without having their hand out in
return. This is what I was bound for I guess.

TO THE FUNCLUB:
To the greatest man in embroidery.
The first time I met Walter Floriani it was being in the presence of greatness.
I refused to wash my hand after shaking his. As I have gotten to know Walter
through the course of his magnificent fun club, I have found that he is even
better than my first impression of him. I have learned so many valuable lessons
and gained so much knowledge of the embroidery process in the time I have been a
member, not only from Walter but other embroiderers who share so much knowledge.
His love of this business really shines through and has been contagious to
myself and I am sure others. This is THE CLUB to join for all embroiderers who
love to learn about this business in a positive, supportive manner.

This membership is the best money we have ever spent
for our business. .....
Walt, Sherri, Kelly, and the rest of the Floriani Unified Network,
In June 1999, Barger (my partner) and I went to the EBN show in Las Vegas. We
met this man named Walter Floriani. People told us about FUN. We just did not
listen close enough to what was being said. Maybe it had something to do with
the number of people congregated around the Floriani booth that prevented us
from getting our "Exactly what is FUN?" question answered. The numerous people
in line should have been a big clue then and there. We just could not understand
why everyone seemed to be in awe of this "Mr. Floriani" and what he had to say.
After all, no one is "that" good, right? WRONG!
I think we may have been afraid that FUN appeared too much like a cult. All of
the members are too happy and friendly for all of this to be real. I have always
been told that if it appears too good to be true, it usually is. NOT THIS TIME!
All of our questions were answered this year when we returned to the EBN show.
We had the great fortune of meeting many of you when some very good friends of
ours invited us to the "get together" on Sunday night preceding the show (Thank
you Carl and Patty Spear!). We learned what a small world this really is as we
enjoyed fellowship with all of you. As warm and friendly as all of you were to
us, we would not have traded anything for the time that we were able to spend
with Walt, Sherri, and Kelly eating dinner afterwards. We just happened to be in
the right place at the right time in the casino!
If you ever feel that these fine people are not within your reach, pick up the
phone and call them. It is like talking with people you have known all your
life. No question is too simple for any of the three of them to take all the
time you want to discuss the issue.
Walt is multi-talented as well. He has a second calling in stand-up comedian.
:o)
Our first order of business upon the opening of the exposition was to get to the
Floriani booth and buy membership in FUN as well as that wonderful CD with all
of the Floriani designs. The membership is the best money we have ever spent for
this business.
In less than two weeks after returning to home and work, we no longer feel like
we are fighting the world to run this business. Many of you share so much with
your insight, opinions and general "get-it-done-know-how". We have very quickly
realized that we are not in this alone. I cannot imagine how we ever did this on
our own.
So our hats are off to all of you. Thank you for the warm welcome into this
enormous "home" of yours. We feel like we have been here for ages and cannot
wait to meet more of you as we travel to shows and elsewhere in this vast
country. You have all inspired us to pick up Walt's theme of keep giving and you
will keep receiving. It is SO true.
In closing, we may be twelve months behind in coming "home" to FUN, but how
excited we are now that we are here.
Thank all of you so much...
